After facing some difficulties with the internet during the camp there will be just one overall report on this camp instead of the daily one.

So for the second year in a row the second NGP camp of the year held place at Brouwersdam during the first week of july. With a smaller group interaction was more intense and improvements where made even faster. Both participants were 16 years old and very motivated to hit the water as much as possible.

Michiel his aim at the beginning of the week where to improve his position, jibing and eventually learn the helitack. From of day 1 he straight got started on it listening exactly to what coach Dieter told and making sure he would try again and again till he would do everything right. The jibing went great by the middle of the week and the heli tacks got more and more consistend towards the end of the week. He actually even landed his first upwind 360° with 9 open blisters on his hands showing his comitment during this clinic!

Wout the other Participant trains in the Bic Techno class and clearly has more sailing hours than Michiel. Not having as painfull hands as Michiel he didn’t really say before how high his level was just asking the same moves as Michiel to be explained. Straight away it was clear he could do much more and everything Dieter told him to do he would learn within the day. Only 2 moves kept him really busy the end part of the lolypop and the Gecko. On the last day he finally got the first one but didn’t really get the Gecko although he got as close as you pretty much can get. During the short moments of plaining of the week he tried his first airjibe’s and we are sure he will be learning a lot more in the future!

Besides all the sailing there was quite some time to also do other activities. Wednesdays was a day without wind and the Waterjump was already talked about a few times during lunch making it a great morning to remember. In the afternoon a long surfingsession was done making the „restday” actually almost more active than the other day’s. Thursday we went for a little swimming session after sailing to make it a full week of good times!

Thanks to the participants being so motivated and great to work with, you made it again another great NGP camp! Also big thanks Zeil and surfcentrum Brouwersdam for having us again, see you all again soon!
